Where is video downloading available?
Watch videos offline on mobile in select countries/regions.
YouTube may not be available in all locations and therefore may not operate in these territories. We're working to launch more territories and bring a localized version of YouTube to more countries/regions.
How do I download audio, music, or MP3 files from the YouTube app?
You can download a music video file, if available, by following the steps to download a video.
It's not possible to download audio, music, or MP3 files from the YouTube app.
How do I download videos from YouTube to my computer?
You can download videos that you’ve already uploaded.
If you haven’t uploaded the video yourself, you can save it to a computer. You can download videos from the YouTube app to your mobile device only.Why aren't my downloaded YouTube videos in my gallery?
The videos are stored encrypted on the device and can only be watched in the YouTube app.
How do I share videos on YouTube?
- Tap Share below the video.
Select the relevant sharing option.
Do videos download automatically?
If you’ve downloaded a whole playlist, videos may download automatically. However, if you download videos individually, you shouldn’t see automatically downloaded content.
It also depends on when you last interacted with the playlist. If you’ve watched a video from a playlist in the last 30 days and a new video is added to that playlist, the new video will download automatically. If you’ve downloaded that playlist in the last 30 days, the video may also download automatically.
If YouTube Premium is available in your location, you can download and watch videos on your mobile device. You can also download videos from your computer using Chrome, Edge & Opera browsers. We hope to bring this feature to other browsers in the future.

Download videos to watch offline
To download videos onto your computer:
- Visit youtube.com from your signed in YouTube Premium account.
- Go to the Watch page of the video you’d like to download.
- Below the video, click Download .
Once the video is downloaded, the download icon will turn blue below the video
If your device loses internet connectivity while downloading videos, your progress will resume automatically once you reconnect to the internet.
View downloaded videos
To find and view videos that you’ve downloaded on your computer:
- Visit youtube.com from your signed in Premium account.
- Click on Downloads in the left menu.
Remove individual videos from your downloads
You can remove videos you've downloaded in two ways:
- Under the video player, tap Downloaded next to the video you'd like to remove.
- Click Delete.
Or
- Go to your Downloads page .
- Select More next to the video you'd like to remove.
- Click Remove from downloads.
- Click Delete in the dialog below "Delete all downloads?"
Remove all downloaded videos
You can view and delete the videos you've downloaded by following these steps:
- In the left menu, select Downloads.
- Tap Download Settings Delete all downloads.
- Click Delete in the dialog below "Delete all downloads?"
Update download settings
Set the default quality of your downloads by going to Settings
Higher-quality videos may consume more data, take longer to show in the Downloads section, and take up more space on your device.
