What happens if I delete a shared playlist Apple Music

Question: Q: Can I Delete a Shared Playlist Created on My Phone?

Hi, my daughter created a bunch of playlists on my iTunes account (I know, I know) before she got an account of her own. I shared all of those playlists with her so she has them in her iTunes account, and I'd like to delete them from my phone/account (she created a NUMBER of playlists). Is it possible to delete them from my phone/account without it deleting from my daughter's phone/account? I've heard different answers in both directions.

If I CAN'T delete from my phone without deleting it from her phone, is it possible to change the ownership of the playlists? Are there any other steps to take short of completely recreating the playlists herself on my daughter's phone/account? Thanks in advance!

Hello glegly,

It sounds like you would like to know if it's possible to delete shared playlists in Apple Music without them also being deleted from the person you shared them with. I'm happy to give you some information on this.

Deleting one of the shared playlists from your device should not remove the playlist from your daughter's device as long as you guys are using two different Apple ID accounts. As long as those playlists appear in her device under the Playlists section they should remain there after you have removed them. Make sure she has saved the playlists to her library and also added the songs to her library as seen in the "Save an Apple Music playlist" section here: Create and share Apple Music playlists.
