How do I log into my old PUBG?

It's ‘pawri’ time for PUBG gamers in India as Krafton has released the online multiplayer game Battlegrounds Mobile India on Friday. The game was banned in India in September 2020.

The game is a revamped version of the popular battle royale game "PUBG', which was banned in India last year after the Galwan Valley standoff involving the Indian and Chinese armies. The version was previously launched for selected gamers and streamers on June 17

Below are the steps to how you can recover your previous pubg account”

1. Go to settings

2. Go to the basic option

3. Account transfer -  Click on Account transfer, a Web View login page will appear on the screen

4. The page will ask for confirmation of account data transfer

5. Select the social network account you linked with the prior app

6. It will redirect you to the opening frame of the game where you have to login again either with  Facebook/Twitter

The game field of Battlegrounds Mobile India has differences in the gameplay with PUBG. According to the creators, India-specific tweaks have been made. 

The gameplay will also introduce its own eSports environment with tournaments and league events.

Needless to say, the APK files and links that have been doing rounds on WhatsApp groups and online are fake and fraudulent and users are advised against engaging with those.

The beta version of the game has been available for download since June 17. The stable version launched on Friday is currently available only for Android users. There is no confirmation about the game's release for iOS users. 

By India Today Web Desk: The official version of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), seen as PUBG Mobile's Indian version, is now available for download on the Google Play store. The much-awaited BGMI was officially released in India on July 2 with multiple warning systems and a seamless gaming experience for the users.

Ever since the South Korea-based developer Krafton announced that it will temporarily shut down the option for transferring the old PUBG data to BGMI from July 6, a lot of queries have come to the fore. Krafton in a statement said that it apologises for the inconvenience caused due to the temporary shutdown of the data transfer. The company had earlier said that data transfers would be available till December 31.

Furthermore, the company is yet to make an announcement on the launch of the game for iPhone users.

Steps to recover old PUBG data:

PUBG players in India can retrieve old data into the new version by following these steps. However, the users will have to agree to the 'Privacy Policy and Terms of Service' that are reflected when they log in to the BGMI.

Step 1: To start the data transfer process, the player must log into the BGMI and accept the terms and conditions. Then, you will receive a new pop-up window.

Step 2: The pop-up window will ask you whether you want to go ahead with the data transfer process. Click on 'Agree' if you wish to go ahead.

Step 3: After you click on Agree, a window will appear. Here, you can select which SNS account in the prior app you would want to use to transfer the data to the new app.

Step 4: A new window will pop up asking if you want to transfer the data from an SNS account. Click on Agree. In case you have selected the wrong SNS account, it can be changed by adding or modifying the linked account later from the basic menu settings within the game. Players are allowed to link up to two SNS accounts at once.

Step 5: You will get a message stating that the data from the prior app SNS account has been transferred to the new account in the new app. The message will only come if the data has been successfully transferred. All the data that can be recovered through the Krafton blog post can be viewed by the readers.

PUBG banned in India:

It is pertinent to note that PUBG was banned by the Indian government in 2020 due to data privacy concerns under the provisions of the Information Technology (IT) Act. However, the BGMI has customization and a variety of other features to provide a secure experience for gamers. The new avatar of PUBG was launched with new changes like a change in colour to green and warnings to spend limited time on the game and a new account system.

It became the top-grossing game on the Play Store within 24 hours of its launch and has over 10 million more downloads than Garena Free Fire. BGMI went for live registration on the Google Play Store on May 18.

How can I recover my PUBG account?

If you have lost your linked Google Play or Facebook account information, please contact their customer support or try their find account / password feature. But, we do not protect your play records or payment history when game is deleted or re-installed if the game is played on guest account.

Can I get my old PUBG account back in BGMI?

First, install the new BGMI app on your mobile device. Tap Open App and log in to the app using the same social media account that you used to log into PUBG earlier. The account data transfer option will appear on the player's screen.
