How many playthroughs do I need to do to upgrade them all to max level?

maybe end of 2nd or midway 3rd playthrough. the second playthrough i kinda rushed it so i only maxed around 3-5 weapons. was working on RYNO which took a lots of resource "If you buy a game at launch, you are paying the most amount of money for the worst version of the game" - TotalBiscuit

If you are constantly cycling which weapons get experience and not using maxed out weapons, by the end of your second run you should have about 2/3rds of the weapons maxed out, and replaying the last arena level to finish maxing out the remainder should take about an hour.But it's important that you max out certain weapons that you can't easily rank up in the arena before this point (Glove of Doom, Bombardier, Topiary). In Insomniac Games’ Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, weapons area big part of the attraction. From explosive gadgets to robotic fighting companions, there is a good variety to be found in the 20 weapons available in the game. Weapons will evolve into their final forms at level 5, and can go up to level 10 once you purchase their Omega variants in Challenge Mode, the new game plus in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Bolts will be very handy in this regard.

Burst Pistol – Blast Pistol

The first weapon you will wield, and a dependable workhorse, the Burst Pistol/Blast Pistol can fire off extremely fast volleys of shots in groups of three. Melt your foes with wide shots, or go narrow by precision aiming.

A great AoE weapon to have in the early parts of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, the Shatterbomb/Shatterblast is also a dependable damage dealer for most of the bigger enemies. Upgrade it enough, and enemies killed can become explosives on your side as well.

A futuristic shotgun if there was any, the Enforcer/Executor comes with the ability to fire off different number of barrels depending on your needs. A dual or quadrupled barreled volley is enough to eliminate most foes.

A great way to even the odds when faced with too many enemies, Mr Fungal/Ms. Fungal can join you in battle to draw the enemy’s attention and deal out some hurt along the process. A fully levelled weapon grants you the couple as worthy battle buddies.

If you need your shots to hit many foes at once, the Neutron Collider/Large Neutron Collider can do just that. A concentrated beam that pierces enemies, you can easily clear the battlefield with a few good bursts.

Gardening is an art, just like killing. Let the Topiary Sprinkler/Toxiary Sprinkler give you a hand by turning your enemies into lawn art. One of the most useful weapons you can find in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, the bonus is that they take extra damage and can even be poisoned over time.

A defensive must-have, the Ricochet/Wreckochet gives you the most value for every shot by allowing you to bounce it off one or several enemies. Time your bounces perfectly and you even get more damage. Just fire it off, and get behind cover.

Hunting in packs can have great results, and the Drillhound/Drillpack adds some explosiveness to the equation. Lock on to your foes and watch the hound go to work in double quick time.

For a different kind of crowd control, consider the Lightning Rod/Lightning Strike. Hit the enemy enough and they get stunned, all while chaining the lightning to others nearby. A great equaliser to give you more room to navigate.

Sometimes, you just need to get behind cover to think of your next steps. The Void Repulser/Void Reactor gives you a portable shield that can absorb all enemy fire. Upgrade it to its final form and you can even reflect back projectiles. In a pinch, you can fire off an energy blast as well to clear the room.

Maybe you prefer the cold to lawn air, and the Cold Snap/Cold Front allows you to freeze enemies up to be at your mercy. At higher levels, the gas it leaves behind will continually freeze enemies for you.

The mother of all explosives, the Warmonger/Peacemaker is your answer to the Emperor’s biggest guns. The rocket hits hard, and micro-rockets will fly out on impact to deal more damage. A reliable and dependable option for every encounter.

A fan-favourite making a return, the Glove of Doom/Apocalypse Glove fires off DoomEggs that bring the Agents of Doom into the fold. These critters will bite the hell out of anyone in range and follows you around until explosive expiration.

If you have a decent aim, the Buzz Blades/Doom Blades is a great way to deal sustained damage without much input from you. Let the auto-hit get into motion and shred the opposition.

An automated option for you to dominate the battlefield, fire off the Bombardier/Bomb Voyage and let the drone take care of business. Bombs and enemies make for a great mix to a good ending.

The long-ranged option that hurts, the Headhunter/Migraine lets you close the distance with a scope and the additional ability to slow time. Fire off at weak points and watch the fireworks.

One of the best weapons in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, the Blackhole Storm/Blackhole Vortex is a minigun that has plenty of ammo, hits hard, and can even cause blackhole explosions. Just watch the overheating and you will be the last one standing all the time.

The classic RYNO/RYNO ∞ comes to the latest game with a twist, opening up portals for damaging objects to fall through. These can range from small items to truly big ones, get a direct hit and the damage is increased. An easy way to clear the way of any obstacles.

Found in Challenge Mode, the Bouncer/Heavy Bouncer is another explosive alternative that you can use to clear groups of enemies. The initial explosion is followed up by more micro-grenades to make sure the job is done.

Turn your enemies into vintage art with the help of the Pixelizer/Pixelizer HD. You can even charge up the shots to hit a larger area, all while dealing bonus damage to the opposition.
